Being Black and Excellent is a Movement

Let’s start by defining the word Excellent. Excellent is defined as extremely good or outstanding. Excellent is also a adjective meaning it describes a person, place or thing. This also means that the word is subjective in that it means something different to different people. No one gets to decide what you personally feel is EXCELLENT! A lot of times we think in terms of what other people feel is important based on their terms and not our own. In simple words, what’s EXCELLENT to me may not be EXCELLENT to you and that is perfectly fine and acceptable. We will no longer allow others to decide what is to be defined as suitable for our lives and living!

Excellent is also a attitude turned into action. Having a excellent attitude allows you to excel in any action that you do. It means when you do things, you get them done and you do it well! Since it is a attitude, it also means it is a conscious choice that you wake up and decide to do daily. As human beings, we don’t just wake up and have the experience of excellence. We cultivate this skill/attitude through practice every day. One thing I have learned in my years on this earth is that, if you consistently work at something everyday you will get to the finished product!

I want to state that I in no way am writing to disregard or disrespect any other race, gender or culture. I do not right to degrade or prioritize one’s race, gender or culture over another. I can only write based on personal experience and point of view. I am a black female, Mom, Creator, Healthcare worker so I write from that point of view and experience. Nothing More and nothing Less!

BLOG CONTENT

In this Blog we will cover 4 Topics bi-weekly. The four topics are broad and a lot of information and education fall underneath them. These four topics are:

Physical

Internal/ExtExternal

Spiritual/Phycological

Career

This is a judgment free zone. At this stage in my life, I pride myself on thinking outside the box and not inside the constructs of acceptability created by others. I am not a doctor therefore any advice I give on health is based on personal experience. I am not a licensed therapist so any advice I give on physiological issues is based on personal experience. I am aware that everyone’s experience is different so I am speaking from my own experiences only.

WHO I AM

I am a woman born and raised in the South. I grew up in a holiness church and was raised by a strong black woman in the 80’s. I have been working in healthcare for the past 17 years. First as a caregiver, then a CNA and now as a nurse. I have been a avid reader for as long as I can remember and have always had a thirst for knowledge. It is from this place that I share education, experience and encouragement! I am currently a content creator and loan signing agent in addition to my nursing career. I am married with a teenager and a toddler at home. I will honestly say that these past years have been difficult and have brought about tremendous growth.

I hope you enjoy my content and continue to come back weekly for more!
